AWS Lake Formation is designed to simplify and automate many of the complex manual steps usually required to create a data lake, such as collecting and cataloging data from databases and Amazon S3, moving the data into the data lake, and cleaning and classifying it using machine learning algorithms to improve data quality and reduce duplicate data. It also helps in setting up the security policies for data access.
