Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Practice Question

To author a new report on top of an existing semantic model, a user must have Build permission on that model. Build permission allows the user to read the model metadata and query the data, enabling creation of new reports or Excel workbooks. It does not grant any rights to modify, publish, or delete content inside the workspace where the model lives. Granting only View permission would let the user open existing reports but would block creation of new ones. Adding the user to the Contributor role would exceed the requirement, because Contributors can edit and publish content in the workspace. Simply sharing an existing report without granting Build permission does not give the underlying semantic model permissions needed to build a new report from Power BI Desktop.
