A semantic model in Power BI Desktop contains a Whole number column named TransactionID. When report authors drag this field into a table visual, Power BI automatically displays a single aggregated value (Σ) instead of listing each transaction. You must modify the model so that any new visual treats TransactionID as a non-aggregated field by default, while retaining its numeric data type. Which column property should you configure, and what setting should you apply?
Change the Data type property from Whole number to Text.
Set the column's Default summarization property to Do not summarize.
Set the Format property to General (with no thousands separator).
Power BI aggregates numeric columns unless the model owner specifies otherwise. Setting the column's Default summarization property to Do not summarize instructs Power BI to treat every value as distinct, preventing automatic sums, averages, or counts. Changing the data type to Text would also stop aggregation but converts numeric data to strings, which breaks joins and numeric calculations. Data category and Format settings control mapping and display, not aggregation behavior, and neither guarantees that the field will remain un-aggregated. Therefore, using Default summarization with the Do not summarize option is the only approach that meets the requirement without altering data type or other semantics.
