NCLEX RN Practice Question

Preparing the sterile field and assisting by handing the provider sterile equipment fall within the scope of practice for an RN who has not undergone specialized training for central line insertions. While an RN with proper training and certification can independently insert central lines, performing the procedure without that training is outside their scope. Prescribing medications is not within an RN's scope, as this is reserved for providers such as physicians and APRNs. Additionally, central line insertions are beyond the legal scope of practice for an LPN, making it inappropriate to delegate this task to them.
