Cat 8 cabling supports bandwidths up to 2000 MHz and is specified for data rates up to 25/40Gbps up to a maximum distance of 30 meters. This makes it ideal for short-range high-speed applications such as data centers or server rooms where quick data transfer rates are imperative. While Cat 6a and Cat 7 also support 10Gbps speeds, they do so at lower bandwidths and longer distances, making them less suitable than Cat 8 for high-bandwidth, short-distance applications.
