AAMA CMA Practice Question

A bone density test, most often a dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scan, is the most appropriate screening tool to assess a patient's risk for osteoporosis. This test measures bone mineral density to detect osteoporosis before a fracture occurs and to predict the likelihood of future fractures. While cancer screening, depression screening, and dietary counseling are important components of a comprehensive adult wellness assessment, they do not directly measure bone density to assess for osteoporosis.
