Which AWS service delivers a ruggedized physical device that you can order to copy large data sets locally and then ship to AWS, accelerating a migration when network bandwidth is limited?
AWS Snowball provides a purpose-built appliance (now Snowball Edge generations) that organizations can connect to their local network, copy terabytes or petabytes of data, and then send to an AWS Region where the data is uploaded to Amazon S3. This avoids lengthy transfer times over a slow or costly link. Snowcone is also a physical device but is much smaller (about 8-10 TB) and intended for edge or small-scale transfers. DataSync accelerates online transfers over the network and does not involve shipping a device. Migration Hub is a management console for planning and tracking migrations; it does not move data itself.
