Non-volatile Memory Express (NVMe) is currently the fastest interface for solid-state drives, offering superior bandwidth and lower latency compared to SATA and PCIe alone. NVMe drives are designed to maximize the performance potential of SSD technology, especially for tasks requiring high read/write speeds, such as in high-performance gaming computers. While PCIe also offers high data transfer speeds, when combined with NVMe, the performance is further improved, making NVMe over PCIe the best choice for this scenario. eSATA provides exterior connectivity and does not match the internal transfer speeds that NVMe can achieve.
